@allan @ink_slinger @moormaan i find the left and right swiping very intuitive once you realize you can do it. It keeps the UI very clean.
@Trav1sty @moormaan @allan It's just too buggy for me. It's not even registering my swipes, making it impossible to interact with toots. I've switched back to Tusky for now.
I want to like Tooty Fruity. The fact that it supports multiple accounts is a big selling point, but it's basically unusable for me at the moment.
@ink_slinger @allan @moormaan Well, let's be honest. There's really no benefit at this point to use anything other than the mobile version. The apps aren't providing a better user experience or additional functionality (yet) but they're getting closer. It'll be interesting to see how the mobile apps progress.
@Trav1sty @moormaan @allan @ink_slinger mobile web, represent!
Especially for admin tasks, viewing user reports, etc. Not having to jump between app and web is useful.
@thurloat @ink_slinger @allan @moormaan After using TF I noticed that it's garbage if you add more than one account on it. Which is too bad because it's solid otherwise. However I came across Twidere Beta
That has Mastodon built in with multi accounts and native notifications.
I'm using it now to see how it holds up.

@Trav1sty @moormaan @allan @ink_slinger the name sounds so hoity
@thurloat @ink_slinger @allan @Trav1sty hey William, thanks for the #Twidere beta link - I really like it so far! Finally, #multipleaccounts and proper notifications from all of then in one place. I can see it needs some work (e.g. boosting is broken, it just toots a copy of the original toot) and the terminology is still birdsite based, but it's very functional. I even added my Twitter account and I see tweets and toots interleaved in the main timeline!
@ink_slinger @moormaan @thurloat @allan That is cool. I had no idea since I didn't hook up the bird site.
@Trav1sty @allan @thurloat @ink_slinger I just realized I can retweet a toot just by interacting with it in #Twidere! Actually, it can post to any number of accounts on potentially disparate platforms at once! An example: https://twitter.com/moormaan/status/857598049891364864
Admittedly, Mastodon has also made me clean up my birdsite account from hundreds of follows I've accumulated over the years as it got me yearning for that early days experience when signal/noise ratio was much higher.
@moormaan @ink_slinger @allan @Trav1sty that's pretty neat. I love the polination, the only crummy thing is that the replies to the content on Twitter are lost to those on Mastodon and it split-brains the topic.
Then again, you lose this any time you share content from one network to another.
@thurloat @Trav1sty @allan @moormaan I kind of assumed the Twitter replies would appear as coming from my Twitter account and Mastodon from Mastodon. Is that not the case?
I figured I'd see a combined timeline but, in reality, they would still be two siloed entities, just "smushed together" for my viewing convenience.
@ink_slinger @moormaan @allan @Trav1sty no I mean for the folks on twitter discussing the topic, and the folks on mastodon discussing the topic.
When it's retweeted to twitter, it splits it into separate bins of interaction.
no idea how the app works in this way, haven't tried it yet :)
@ink_slinger @moormaan @allan @Trav1sty ah yeah, I've been doing #woolyweek basically since I started this instance.
I've had little reason to go back other than to tell people to come here :P
@ink_slinger @moormaan @allan @Trav1sty it's come to a point where I've logged into twitter as much as linkedin over the last few weeks... and linkedin is the worst.
@thurloat @allan @moormaan @ink_slinger Linkedin..... Such a great purchase for Microsoft. ๐คฃ
@thurloat @allan @moormaan @ink_slinger I like this #woolyweek thing, except I quit using the bird site entirely so I guess I went #thefoolwooly
