Who was it that asked me about a Monopoly Communist Edition a while ago? It exists! Well, kind of...

This game actually sounds awesome. I want a copy, but it goes for $100+ on eBay, so I will likely never own it.

@ink_slinger I play my woman's march card! 😜

If it exist on this game, I hope.

@ink_slinger Ok, it's a alusion to the Bread and Roses March in 1995 thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/. Probably one of the two think I remember of this year, with the referedum in october.

@Fralambert Ha, the game is from the '70s, so these references won't apply.

@ink_slinger Actually, there is a woman's march (8 March) in the February Revolution in Russia. The tsar abdicated 4 days later.

@ink_slinger iirc Monopoly is the communist edition. The dude invented the game to show how arbitrary and feckless capitalism is.

@rotatingskull Yes, that's correct. It's based on the Landlord's Game, which had two sets of rules. The monopoly rules and then more socialist rules. The socialist rules eventually got dropped because, although they made a good teaching tool they made for a boring game, at least according to the stories I've read.

@ink_slinger Yup. In the socialist rules everything is very well organized and everybody gets what they need and they stop frantically clawing at cash. Not much of a board game but a better life tho.

@ink_slinger someone needs to pirate that board game so people other than capitalists can play it
