I missed posting this on #Canada Day, but here it is.

Remember: "Eat soap, Justin Trudeau. Elect Guizzy"
I would really appreciate shares to get the message out of this. Also, please feel free to translate. I would love to have native Spanish speakers in particular involved as South America is predominantly Spanish-speaking. I know Brazil is Portuguese and one of the smaller northeast countries is English-speaking, but we just need diversity in general and I think having native speakers of other languages is one way to do that.

It's that time again. We are looking for regional judges for the Creative Commons Community Music Awards. Please let me know if you would be interested in taking a region.

The regions we have available are as follows (two regions are already taken):
#Canada
Rocky Mountain - ID, MT, WY, NV, UT, CO
Mid-West - ND, SD, NE, KS, MO, IA, MN, WI, IL, IN, MI, OH
Southwest - OK, TX, NM, AZ
Southeast - AR, LA, MS, AL, GA, FL, TN, SC, NC, KY, WV, VA, DC (if someone really wants to do Northeast with DC, sure, take it)
#Mexico, Central America, and Carribbean (we haven't decided if PR will be here or in US Southeast)
#Asia (minus Russia)
#Oceania (including #Australia)
#SouthAmerica
#Africa

In the future, we would love to break the regions up more, but having smaller regions this year has proved unmanageable. How much of that is due to covid? Who knows.

https://bdinls576.wordpress.com/2020/03/23/2022-cc-community-music-awards-regional-rules/ has been edited since yesterday.

I have been told in the past that once-a-day posts are fine but any more than that gets tiresome. I doubt I will post daily, but if I post about this too much, please let me know!

It's an uncomfortable reality that the co-op movement and the labour movement are often at odds. Here's an important story from Regina, SK, where the Federated Cooperatives, Ltd. refinery has locked out Unifor Local 594: thestar.com/edmonton/2020/02/0

(As the article notes, Unifor itself has a bit of a turbulent relationship with the wider Canadian labour movement and left-of-centre politics…they've affiliated themselves with the Liberal Party)
