There are some really good public domain #eBooks out there, so I've done a simple little search page for finding them:
https://switching.social/public-domain-ebooks-search/
Give it a go if you're a fan of classic #literature or #historical #texts.
Feedback welcome.
You can see the list of sources on the search results page, let me know if there's a source you think should be added.
I've tried to focus on books, especially literature, rather than academic papers or general archives.
@GinnyMcQueen Horror in the Heartland by Keven McQueen (Midwestern gothic)
Leningrad by Anna Reid. (1941-1942 was intense omg.)
Killing the Black Body by Dorothy Roberts. (Reproductive choice as white feminists see it isn't the same as reproductive justice because History.)
A History of Terror by Paul Newman. (Not about terrorism, but about the way common western myths and fears have changed with social context.)
It is finished, finally.
Now I'm reading something quite a bit lighter, Neil Gaiman - Neverwhere
Beautiful cover on a very, very old book that they just reprinted. I wonder how many times this book had been reprinted???
Didn't buy it but look at this beautiful book.

Just finished reading Jerusalem: The Biography. What I learned: Jews, Muslims, and Christians sure love to kill each other over 'their' Holy Places.
What I still don't understand is why Jews and Arabs hate each other so much...
Still I did learn a lot about the region. Interesting if you can make it through.
The Anti-Tolkien: Michael Moorcock

When I get the time, I'm going to write a trilogy of romance novels called "Robert's Rules of Ardor".
They will be tales of deliberative passion, like "Fifty Shades of Grey" but for a different crowd. Think club treasurers, co-op people, policy wonks, jurists....
Working titles:
- "Lay on the Table"
- "Privileged Motions"
- "Commit or Refer"
The #bookshop kobo.com sells lots of non-DRM eBooks! :blobaww:
However, they also sell lots of DRM eBooks, all mixed together with the non-DRM, and no filter to sort them out :blobcry:
This makes it very difficult to look for non-DRM books on #Kobo.
So, to solve this problem switching.social presents the Unofficial Kobo Search page, which lets you find non-DRM books available on your country's Kobo site:
https://switching.social/unofficial-kobo-search/
Any feedback very welcome.
In a wood-panelled room in Paris, lined with books, these Olympians [Woodrow Wilson, Lloyd George, Clemenceau] would shape the world, a prospect that amused the cynical Balfour as he superciliously watched "three all-powerful, all-ignorant men carving up continents."

Jerusalem: The Biography
Checked out 3 bookstores, and now time for rewarding and coffee.
I'm at the point in the book when the imperial powers divide up the Middle East and f*** it up forever.

@KelsonReads @Julia us it would be nice if tags were hidden or something. But without them posts can't be found.
I always check the #books tag to try to find new people to follow. So even if you don't tag all your book posts, yeah some of them so I can find bookish people 😊
@Julia
People just need to tag their conversations with #books.
I have a LINE group for book conversation and to meetup in person in Taiwan.
There are so few people talking about books here, not sure how many hard core readers there actually are? Maybe they are just too busy reading to find time to post?
