I love how #bandcamp just doesn't care when it comes to id3 tags on their mp3s.
> "If Spotify is just feeding easy music to everybody, where does the art form go? Is anybody going to be able to push boundaries and break through to a wide audience anymore?”
Funny, this is what we used to say about mainstream radio and record stores. This is the problem many of us hoped distributing music online would fix. Maybe this is just what corporate control does to music?
I dunno if somebody here on masto recommended it, but I'm almost too busy geeking out to bang my head while listening to "Times of Obscene Evil and Wild Daring" by Toronto doom metal act SMOULDER.
If you know your classic sword 'n sorcery fiction, you'll find plenty to love in this not-quite forty minute album.
Otherwise, their politics are pretty wholesome, too: "Love Metal | Hate Fascism" and "Nazi Punks Fuck Off". :)
@artsyhonker @MatejLach totally a bandcamp supporter but some albums are still associated with labels (marked in a black box in the upper left corner). I’ve emailed #bandcamp and a few artists to see how that works without much luck 🤷♂️. On the upside, the band Geoda emailed me directly to say thanks and ask my opinion about their music (it’s Awesome). Had a nice chat with them.

Today's working album of choice:
Tor - Drum Therapy
heavily influenced by the far eastern sound, Tor takes you on a journey through global music. Easy to listen to, easy to have as a background, and comes up often in rotation. This year alone it's gotten 237 plays on my media server across 6 users.
Not bad :)
Thresholds (Full Dynamic Range Edition)
Well, thank you, tho I don't understand (doubt there's :bandcamp: writers on the fediverse to explain).
Meanwhile purchases & follows are pinging my app more or less by the hour. It's pretty amazing to compare effects of an ad we did in The Wire (absolutely none) and this (crazy influx of followers, likes, downloads and purchases).
