@u2764
thanks for the patronising attitude. i do harm to no one.
and i stop no one from their choices. i view the world as
it reveals itself to me. and i dont allow other people to do
my thinking for me. i suggest if theres a problem between
us two, it is wholly yours.
@GinnyMcQueen
thanks, ill check it out! @Toxic_Flange
it does nothing. if you read my post youd see i came to that conclusion.
but it still doesnt mean i have to like the veil. i dont. i dont like what it stands
for. if a woman chooses the veil in any form, thats on her & FOR her. but choosing
a symbol can have consequences. my objection isnt based on religion, islam
itself actually preaches an equality that was unparalleled for its time, its
based on what the veil was originally intended to do. and still does today.
@GinnyMcQueen
im upset by both. but can understand (& sometimes feel) pull of both.
but what i dislike most abt veil (in all incarnations) is what it means & its
origins in early history, it marked women as property. it had little to do with modesty
or religious observation. i had to confront my own prejudice against it when i
realised IT deeply offended me, but trad nuns habits did not (catholic school girl here ).
i dont understand that choice, but accept its not my choice
@GinnyMcQueen
