@ink_slinger @Toxic_Flange @allan I wish I had bought real estate in downtown Dartmouth in the 90s when I had the chance.

@allan @Toxic_Flange @ink_slinger In the "old days" I used to sit on the dock opposite Historic Properties and watch the rats under Privateers Wharf sniff the toes of tourist sitting with their feet dangling over the wharf edge.

@ink_slinger Among other things we learned from the scoping was that we were putting to much grease down the sink and it was hardening before making it to the main under the street. $1300 to replace from the house to the street.

@ink_slinger Lead! - luxury! Mine (and everyone else in this neighborhood) were some kind of rolled tar-paper!

@ink_slinger Two years ago my neighbor K's sewer line fail under her front yard - filled the basement. All the houses on our block were built at the same time (1957ish) so after seeing the mess K had to deal with most of us had our pipes scoped. In the end the contractor who fixed K's problem dug-up my yard and 4 other neighbors. Now I have a nice new slippery plastic pipe under the yard. Which is a good thing since I have three big teenage boys constantly testing the limits of the system.

@cognish No - though the managers job is usually open at Strathcona ;) I'm out in Camrose.

@cognish Good evening Mark - I came out-west in 2001. Before that I grew up in North End, Dartmouth.

@thurloat Thanks! First mastodon home - yes and no. First was mastodon.xyz - for two days. Then I figured out the whole instance thing and went in search of a Canadian home.
